What on Earth?

The project is a panoramic knitted tapestry divided into eight scenes. Each scene portrays environmental and social crises that occurred at different points in time across the globe – from the nuclear bombings in the Marshall Islands, to glacial melting in Canada, massive wildfires in Australia, and mythological flood stories. Using forms and symbols, the project explores the complex relationships between technological progress, climate change, and human migration, offering a critical perspective on humanity's place within these dynamics. In contrast to a fast-paced, industrialized, and violent reality, the project returns to traditional textile techniques as a form of resistance. Like many historical textile structures, this tapestry serves not only as a decorative or functional object, but also as a medium for recording and representing cultural and historical narratives.
