Hasten It In Its Time /Everything Will Go Wrong for the Better
The NPC (non-player character) apocalyptically heralds its chance appearance, as it emerged from the mire and decay of the living—the slime mold. These are organisms that look like bubbles and lack brains, but have high cognitive abilities and consciousness.
The material intelligence of the slime heralds a new order: the ousting of human beings from their privileged position as the intelligent rulers of the universe and nature’s non-coincidental state, and a transition to an unpredictable era characterized by decay and a state of slime. When in this state, the material is somewhere between a solid and a liquid and is as thick and sticky as honey, unable to hold whole objects. But somehow things in the space atrophy and continue to exist in an incomplete and unfinished state, a state of slime, of mire and new physicality.
The slime expresses a metaphoric and actual world, initiating a state of existence with its own laws that cracks open the greatest space of chance and exchange options: from opera to decay, from body to simulation, from muscle to sculpture, from physical to virtual, and from material to parallel reality.
