Broken figures
The work expresses an act of destruction and rejection of visual imagery as a critical stance—challenging conventions, exploring identity, and protesting against institutions of power. Through clothing, I ask: what does attire symbolize, and what message does it convey? How do images like a plastic chair, a barrier, or the emblem of Jerusalem (the roaring lion) transform their meanings? I develop patterns based on clothing items from Israeli streetwear, distort these patterns, and print on them images taken out of context. In the metalworks, I hybridize wax models collected from a Jerusalem metal foundry: Judaica symbols and souvenirs, commercial jewelry, Jerusalemite and Israeli imagery—turning them into hybrid creatures... and I ask: is this Jerusalem of gold? Of darkness Or light?
