In my project, I challenge the material habits of the fashion industry and explore what happens when we embrace the rejected material: our waste. I explored the natural processes our trash undergoes—decay, mold, parasitic fungi, and more—and chose to reinterpret these acts of decomposition as the beginning of something new: a new aesthetic. The collection includes four outfits created through knitting, felting, and sewing techniques; two pairs of shoes made with 3D-printed TPU and wool felt; and a jewelry series crafted from PLA 3D-printing waste, gold-plated and set with gemstones. The collection consists of approximately 70% waste and 30% new materials with minimal environmental impact.
