Driven Spaces
Redefining the informal entrance to Nazareth Leaving the flatlands behind, road 60 curves into the mountains before entering the city of Nazareth without a formal welcome. Instead, you pass through an informal industrial zone that works like a living machine: garages spill onto sidewalks, workshops buzz, cars idle, craftsmen repair, and families live upstairs. It’s messy. This improvised urbanization moves according to need. At the very heart stands the Licensing Office, where papers shuffle and engines wait, lining up in a scattered choreography. This is the city’s true entrance where life and workmanship mix; a long tradition in Nazareth. The car, at the center, can suggest a central point of development in this industrial area that still looks for its right development. Arch. Ifat Finkelman, Arch. Deborah Pinto Fdeda
