From one to ten

A video work that explores, through a visual interpretation, the inner world of children who grew up with addicted parents.The piece focuses on dissociation — a psychological defense mechanism of detachment from reality during trauma — through a combination of sound and image: WhatsApp voice messages from a mother to her daughter, interwoven with images of public housing buildings constructed using collage techniques. The repetitive, exposed urban aesthetic reflects a sense of stagnation, emotional distance, and disconnection — as an echo of dissociation born from a tense and unpredictable reality. In the encounter between sound and image, an emotional and aesthetic proposition emerges: a glimpse into an inner world where distance, silence, and detachment serve as a quiet protective layer in a home that fails to provide safety.
