Genetics of Objects: Design of Object Families Inspired by Genetic Inheritance

What happens when a broom and an extension cord fall in love? What would the child of a kitchen sponge and round cake pan look like? Which traits will a paperclip pass on to its offspring? Every living creature carries a genetic blueprint: a set of instructions passed down through generations, shaping its form, abilities, and behavior. Objects, too, carry a kind of DNA: their form, function, material, and method of production. This project explores what happens when heredity is applied to the world of everyday objects. By decoding the genetic makeup of everyday items, new objects are born, offering a fresh perspective on the things that surround us.
