Lanterns

In a world in which people keep their souls in small lanterns that open in the moment of death, we encounter a Soul-Lighthouse keeper who assists them in their passing. She’s gentle and professional, until one night she stumbles upon the soul of her young grandson, and all she wants to do is hug and not let go, and by that almost causes his dissipation.

This is a film about the breaking of desensitization when things become personal, and of the desire to hold the ones you love, for just one more moment.
