Loneliness and Fear Masquerading as Love
Confronting the genderbased oppression embedded in traditional religious ritual structures, which are often governed by male authority.
From a lived experience of alienation, fear, and lack of control, arises the need to establish a new kind of ritual feminine, autonomous, and free of hierarchy.
The project offers a ceremonial space in which a woman creates her own form of ritual, detached from familiar symbols and dictated traditions of male-dominated religious institutions. It is a space of purification, where the rules are redefined through a desire to dismantle and appropriate masculine imagery, and to construct a unique ritualistic language rooted in feminine spirit and in emotions that are often left unspoken.
