The Dialectics of Opposites: Artists Ilya Glazunov and Ilya Kabakov in the Artistic and Socio-Political Context

Art operates as a subversive political force that challenges the established order through the use of irony, absurdity, and provocation. This study explores the modes of action employed by artists who opposed the Soviet regime, through an analytical examination of the works of Ilya Kabakov and Ilya Glazunov—two contemporaneous artists with conflicting ideologies who played a key role in shaping the discourse of political art in the post-Soviet era.
