The Dollmaker's Heart
The Dollmaker’s Heart is a mixed media installation inspired by a children’s story I wrote, rooted in my life and real people. It tells of a young dollmaker, frozen in time after losing her father, who tries to mend her broken feelings through delicate figures.
To bring this story to life, I developed an original technique for shaping stained glass in three dimensions. Sculpted in clay, slumped in the kiln, and joined with copper foil, fabric, and recycled plastic,
The work explores grief, memory, and healing.
Dimensions: Varying sizes
Materials: Spectrum glass, recycled plastic, felt
Technique: Sculpture, slumping, stained glass, and sewing
