The lead/ start line/ Unspoken
At the beginning of this project, I was driven by a desire for clarity — to define a topic, a message, a direction. I was searching for the “correct” and “precise” place to start. I wanted to feel secure in my path. But again and again, I found myself returning to threads, to unraveling, to knitting. My hands moved before words could explain. The slow, contemplative rhythm of the process created a different sense of time. The act of making came before understanding or defining. I designed a collection that doesn’t seek to express a singular, fixed identity, but rather reflects the multiplicity of my inner selves — a continuum of sensations and experiences. Instead of translating an idea into form, the process holds space for multiplicity and listens to the presence of uncertainty. The connections between threads mirror the connections between the many voices within me. The relationship between the structured and the emerging, between woven fabric and knit, describes the release from the need to "figure it all out." Materials: Wool and cotton threads, wool, PLA. Working techniques: Knitting, developing patterns in press, developing patterns in knitting, and 3D printing.
