Tiny Moves: A Dollhouse – A Set for Stop Motion Films
Around the age of seven, I stopped seeing dolls as entities. I started to see the stitches, the plastic, the object, so I started playing with the material: I erased their faces, painted new ones, gave them edgy haircuts. When that also lost its appeal, I moved towards computer games and movies – I built worlds, characters, houses, and breathed life into them. I was an architect, a god, a child. This project was born out of longing – not just for childhood games, but for the belief in the game itself, for the time I felt the game was real. I created a dollhouse — a modular space for play, staging and stop-motion filmmaking. By photographing every tiny move the figure appears to be moving as if on its own. In that moment, you forget it’s just a game, you forget the scale and you get sucked into the world you created.
